Securely tie down crops such as banana, tomato, chili, and other crops requiring support to protect them from strong winds. Avoid working in the fields during lightning strikes or dust storms. To protect livestock from heat and heatwaves, keep them in shaded areas and provide them with an adequate supply of clean drinking water. To ensure the continued availability of fodder, harvest and store green fodder in a timely manner.

English: Farmers who want to cultivate paddy, maize or groundnut in the up lands should go for intercropping, in case of irregular rainfall, if one crop is destroyed, then some yield is obtained from the other crop. The intercropping for this area is as follows: Arhar + groundnut/paddy/urad: Sow two rows of groundnut or paddy or urad between two rows of arhar (75 cm row to row and 20 to 25 cm plant to plant distance). Arhar + corn: Sow one row of arhar and one row of maize (75 cm row to row and 20 to 25 cm plant to plant distance). In medium land, do direct sowing of paddy, maize, groundnut or soybean with short or medium duration variety. Choose short duration variety of maize for grain and medium duration variety for green corn.

Chilli
English: An outbreak of the Leaf Curl Virus (characterized by leaves curling upwards or downwards and turning yellow) is being observed in chili crops, this is a serious disease transmitted by whiteflies. To control this, apply Neem oil @ 5 ml per liter of water and install yellow sticky traps in the fields. In cases of severe infestation, spray Imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 0.5 ml per liter of water.
हिंदी (Hindi): मिर्च के फसलों में पत्ती मोड़क विषाणु (पत्तियां सिकुड़ कर ऊपर/नीचे मुड़ जाती हैं, पीले पड़ जाते हैं) के प्रकोप दिख रहें है जो सफेद मक्खी द्वारा फैलने वाला एक गंभीर रोग है। इसके नियंत्रण के लिए नीम तेल 5 मि. ली. प्रति लीटर पानी और खेतों में पीले चिपचिपे जाल का प्रयोग करें, प्रकोप अत्यधिक होने पर इमिडाक्लोप्रिड दवा 17.8 एस.एल. का छिड़काव 0.5 मि. ली. प्रति लीटर पानी के साथ छिड़काव करें।
Rice
English: Harvest summer rice at physiological maturity (80-85% of grains mature from a panicle) to reduce losses due to grain breakage after observing clear weather. Before storage, the moisture content of grains should be reduced to 14 percent by drying them in the sun for 1-2 days. For safe storage of harvested paddy/rice, use Super Grain Bag which helps in maintaining quality, texture, colour, aroma and taste for a long time. To prevent insects in stored paddy, use aluminium phosphide (do not use in homes) tablets @ 3 tablets / ton of grain (total 9 grams of tablets) in a fairly air tight container or by covering the grain bags.

Rice
English: Prepare land for paddy and arrange seeds of paddy crop. The improved varieties for rice crops are – for high land – Birsa Vikas Dhan 109, 110, 111, Birsa Dhan – 108 and Vandana; For middle land – Sahbhagi dhan, IR-36, 64, Lalat, Naveen, Birasmati; For low land – Use Rajshree, Swarna, Sambha Mahsuri. Before sowing seeds, treat with fungicide Bavistin at the rate of 2 grams per kg of seeds.

Keep a distance of 2.5 to 3.0 meters for pumpkin, 1.25 to 1.5 meters for bitter gourd, 1.5 to 2.0 meters for dry gourd, 2.0 to 2.5 meters for dry gourd.
