Last Updated: 9 August 2026

Green Alerts, accessible at www.greenalerts.in, is an independent weather-information and public-awareness platform providing weather forecasts, weather alerts, rainfall information, agricultural weather information and other general information for public use.

This Disclaimer explains the nature, source, limitations and intended use of information available through Green Alerts.

By using this Website, you acknowledge that weather and other information may change and that important decisions should be based on the latest information from appropriate official or professional sources.

1. Independent Information Website

Green Alerts is not a Government of India website and is not the official website of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, any State Government, or any other government department, authority or agency.

Green Alerts is an independent platform that may disseminate, reproduce, summarise, display or otherwise make available weather forecasts, warnings, advisories, observations, data and other information obtained from IMD, government departments and other official or authoritative sources.

The presence of government-related information, references, programmes, schemes, services, names, logos or links on this Website does not, by itself, mean that Green Alerts is owned, operated, sponsored, endorsed, approved or controlled by the relevant government organisation.

For official notifications, government orders, statutory information, schemes, eligibility requirements, applications, benefits, emergency instructions or government services, users should always verify the latest information directly from the relevant official government website or competent authority.

2. Green Alerts and India Meteorological Department (IMD)

Green Alert Mausam Sewa has an MoU dated 29 March 2021 with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) concerning the dissemination of weather forecast information to the public.

Under the applicable terms of the MoU, weather forecast information is made available to the general public through Green Alerts, including www.greenalerts.in, at the applicable expense and responsibility of Green Alert Mausam Sewa, subject to the terms and conditions of the MoU.

The existence of the MoU does not make www.greenalerts.in an official Government of India or IMD website.

The MoU should not be interpreted as a general endorsement, sponsorship, ownership, management or approval by IMD of every article, feature, service, interpretation, opinion or other content published on Green Alerts.

Where information is specifically identified as originating from IMD, such information should be understood as information sourced from or disseminated from the relevant IMD source, subject to the applicable source conditions.

3. Official PIB Reference to Panchayat Mausam Sewa

The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, in its press release dated 15 January 2024 (Release ID 1996364), publicly recorded that:

“India Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Green Alert Mausam Sewa have jointly developed Panchayat Mausam Sewa Portal.”

The same official PIB release states that the portal would provide weather forecasts in English, Hindi and twelve regional languages to Panchayat Heads and Panchayat Secretaries for dissemination to villages. It also describes the use of weather alerts, warnings and medium-range forecasts to assist farmers in planning activities including sowing, transplantation, irrigation, fertilizer and pesticide application. (pib.gov.in)

The PIB release identifies the IMD webpage associated with the initiative as:

mausam.imd.gov.in/greenalerts

This official PIB reference documents the institutional collaboration relating to Panchayat Mausam Sewa.

It should not be interpreted to mean that www.greenalerts.in itself is a Government of India or IMD website, or that every service, article, feature or item of content published by Green Alerts is an official government publication or endorsement.
