Maize and Ginger Field Management

Remove excess water from maize and ginger fields to prevent waterlogging and promote healthy crop growth.

North Transition Zone

Sugarcane Management

Perform intercultural operations at 50, 65, 80, and 95 days after planting sugarcane, followed by earthing up at 120 days to support crop development.

Groundnut Fertilization

Apply 200 kg of gypsum per acre to groundnut crops at 35-40 days old. Spray 2% urea (20 g per litre of water) at 30 and 60 days after sowing.

Cotton Nutrient Management

Due to continuous rainfall, spray 2% urea or 1% 19:19:19 fertilizer on cotton crops at 60-70 days after sowing.

Maize Pest Control

To manage fall armyworm in maize, apply Imamectin Benzoate 5% SG or Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC at 0.3 g per litre of water.

Green Gram Pest Control

Control pod borer in green gram by spraying Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC at 0.3 ml or Cyhalothrin + Chlorantraniliprole at 0.5 ml per litre of water.

North East Dry Zone

Water Management

Drain excess water from low-lying areas to prevent crop damage.

Rice and Chilli Transplanting

Undertake transplanting of rice and chilli crops under suitable soil moisture conditions.

North East Transition Zone

Brinjal and Tomato Transplanting

Initiate transplanting of brinjal and tomato crops under favorable conditions.

Black Gram and Green Gram Nutrient Management

Spray pulse magic (micronutrient mixture) at 5 g per litre of water during the flowering and pod formation stages of black gram and green gram.

Eastern Dry Zone

Coconut and Arecanut Planting

Begin planting coconut and arecanut for newly established orchards.

Intercultural Operations

Carry out intercultural operations in red gram, maize, groundnut, sunflower, tomato, and chilli fields to enhance crop health.

Sowing and Crop Management

Undertake sowing of finger millet, black gram, and cowpea. Perform earthing up and thinning operations to optimize soil moisture availability for crops.

Central Dry Zone

Weather Precautions

Avoid spraying pesticides during windy, rainy, or cloudy weather to ensure effectiveness and safety.

Crop Support

Provide staking or support to banana, tomato, and arecanut to protect against wind damage.

Nursery Protection

Protect nurseries from runoff using bunds and temporary shade structures.

Ragi Management

Use raised beds for ragi, ensure proper drainage, and apply Trichoderma around roots during dry morning hours. Avoid sowing during heavy rainfall.

Southern Dry Zone

Transplanting Precautions

Avoid transplanting during gusty wind hours and secure young seedlings to prevent damage.

Water and Fertilizer Management

Maintain an optimal water level of 2-3 cm in fields and apply recommended basal fertilizers after transplanting.

Crop Support

Provide staking or support to maize and banana to protect against gusty winds and ensure proper drainage.

South Transition Zone

Rice Transplanting

Undertake transplanting of rice under suitable conditions.
