Scattered light to moderate rains, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, are expected statewide, with isolated heavy downpours likely from October 8 to 10. IMD Alerts and District-Wise Forecast

The IMD has flagged moderate to heavy rainfall risks in North Interior Karnataka districts including Kalaburagi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Raichur, Koppal, Gadag, Haveri, and Yadgir. South Interior regions such as Bellary, Bengaluru, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davangere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, Vijayanagar, and Tumkur are also set for moderate rains with thunderstorms. Coastal areas face additional threats of gusty winds and heavy showers on October 7 and beyond.

According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), these conditions could lead to disruptions, urging residents to stay indoors during peak rain hours.

Bengaluru Weather Outlook

In the capital, expect generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall over the next 48 hours, including thunderstorms. Today’s maximum temperature hovers at 29°C, with a minimum of 20-21°C, and humidity levels around 71%. Air quality remains good at an AQI of 49. Gentle breezes will prevail, but gusty winds may accompany showers.

Looking ahead till October 15, Bengaluru and surrounding areas will see persistent light to moderate rains with lightning and winds; October 8 forecasts a high of 28°C and low of 20°C.
