Madhya Pradesh Weather Update 10 October 2025

Madhya Pradesh Weather: Monsoon’s Retreat and the Arrival of Autumn Chill (October 10, 2025)

Published: October 10, 2025

As of October 10, 2025, Madhya Pradesh is experiencing a significant shift in its weather patterns. The southwest monsoon is making its final exit, paving the way for the pleasant, crisp air of autumn and the gradual onset of winter. Residents across the state are now witnessing clear skies and a noticeable drop in night temperatures.

Monsoon Says Goodbye to Madhya Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirms that the southwest monsoon has already completely withdrawn from 12 districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Agar-Malwa, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, and parts of Rajgarh and Ashoknagar. This withdrawal, though slightly delayed from its usual completion by October 6, is expected to be complete across the entire state within the next two to three days, around October 11.

The period of heavy rainfall that characterized much of the monsoon season has now subsided. While no active rain system is currently over Madhya Pradesh, some southern and eastern districts like Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori, and Anuppur may still experience light drizzle or thundershowers for another day or two. However, most of the state is set for dry and sunny weather.

Autumn’s Embrace: Cooler Nights and Dropping Temperatures

With the monsoon’s retreat, Madhya Pradesh is embracing autumn with a distinct coolness in the air, especially noticeable at night. Many cities have already seen minimum temperatures drop below 20 degrees Celsius. For instance, Dhar, Indore, and Rajgarh recorded temperatures around a chilly 17.6-17.7°C. Bhopal’s minimum was 19.6°C, Ujjain 19°C, Gwalior 22.1°C, and Jabalpur 21°C. This trend of falling night temperatures is expected to continue in the coming days, intensifying the autumn chill and preparing the state for winter.

The IMD anticipates that the difference between day and night temperatures will increase, leading to a reduction in atmospheric moisture. This creates the characteristic pleasant, crisp mornings and evenings that residents are now enjoying.

Historical Monsoon Performance and Future Outlook

This year’s monsoon season, which began on June 16 (a day later than usual), delivered an impressive 122% of Madhya Pradesh’s normal rainfall, significantly exceeding the annual average. While Guna district received the highest rainfall at 65.6 inches, some districts like Shajapur, Khargone, and Dhar received considerably less.

As of October 10, 2025, the state is poised for a period of pleasant weather with bright, sunny days and increasingly cool nights. Residents are advised to stay updated with local forecasts as the state fully transitions from monsoon to the cooler months ahead.
