The Yamuna River’s water level at Hathnikund Barrage has dropped to 53,011 cusecs, easing flood concerns in Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand had pushed levels to 1.78 lakh cusecs, prompting flood warnings. Meanwhile, the Bhakra Dam released 45,000 cusecs into the Sutlej for the first time in two years, while a breach in the Markanda River embankment caused severe flooding and crop losses in Kurukshetra. Authorities continue flood management with controlled water releases, canal supply restoration, and disaster alerts across Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi.
