Rice
English: Taking advantage of light to moderate rainfall in the coming 5 days, farmers can start nursery bed preparation for sowing of Sali rice seeds. The nursery beds should be of 10m long and1.25m wide prepared in levelled well-puddled soil and the distance between the beds should be about 30 cm. About 6-7 such beds will be required to transplant one bigha of land and are commended quantity of 650g to 1 kg of seeds should be sown in each bed. Prior to sowing, 20Kg FYM, 80gm urea, 80gm SSP and 40gm MOP should be thoroughly incorporated in each of the beds.
বাংলা (Bengali): আগামী ৫ দিনের হালকা থেকে মাঝারি বৃষ্টিপাতের সুযোগ নিয়ে কৃষকরা শালি ধানের বীজ বপনের জন্য চারা তৈরির কাজ শুরু করতে পারেন। চারাগুলো ১০ মিটার লম্বা এবং ১.২৫ মিটার চওড়া করে সমতল ও ভালোভাবে কাদামাটিযুক্ত মাটিতে তৈরি করতে হবে এবং প্রতিটি বেডের মধ্যে দূরত্ব প্রায় ৩০ সেমি হতে হবে। এক বিঘা জমিতে চারা রোপণের জন্য প্রায় ৬-৭টি এমন বেডের প্রয়োজন হবে এবং প্রতিটি বেডে ৬৫০ গ্রাম থেকে ১ কেজি বীজ বপন করার পরামর্শ দেওয়া হয়। বীজ বপনের আগে প্রতিটি বেডে ২০ কেজি গোবর সার, ৮০ গ্রাম ইউরিয়া, ৮০ গ্রাম এসএসপি এবং ৪০ গ্রাম এমওপি ভালোভাবে মিশিয়ে দিতে হবে।

English: As the districts of Barak Valley are low-lying and flood-prone areas, farmers are advised to collect seeds of high-yielding submergence-tolerant rice varieties such as Ranjit Sub-1, Bahadur Sub-1 and Swarna Sub-1 from ZRS or KVK of Assam Agricultural University and prepare the nursery bed accordingly.
