Area of Concern (AoC)

Few watersheds & neighborhoods of Uttarakhand, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland Mizoram Manipur Tripura (NMMT), Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Konkan &
Goa and Madhya Maharashtra Met subdivisions.

Diagnostic Guidance

Based on Merged Mean Areal Precipitation at 1130 IST, rainfall is up to 63 mm in last 6 hours and up to 226 mm in last 24 hours over few watersheds and neighborhood of
Area of Concern (AoC) Met subdivisions. Land Surface Model shows few nearly saturated watersheds up to 80 to 95 % over Area of Concern (AoC) Met subdivisions and up to 50 % soil saturation over remaining parts of the country.

Prognostic Guidance

Dynamic Global (GFS) & Mesoscale Model (WRF & NCUM) forecasts extremely heavy rainfall up to 274 mm in next 24 hours.

Observed Flash Flood Threat (IFFT) till 1130 IST of 15-09-2025

No Flash flood threat observed in last 06 hours.

Persistent Flash Flood Threat (PFFT) till 1730 IST of 15-09-2025

No Flash flood threat likely in next 06 hours.

Met Sub-divisions during next 24 hours. Assam & Meghalaya – Baksa, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Cachar, Chirang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur,
Morigaon, N.C Hills, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sibsagar, Sonitpur, Tinsukia, East Khasi Hills,
Ri Bhoi, South Garo Hills, West Khasi Hills and Jaintia Hills districts. Nagaland Mizoram Manipur Tripura ( NMMT) – Manipur- Chandel, Churachandpur, Senapati,
Ukhrul, Nagaland- Kiphire, Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Phek, Tuensang, Wokha and Zunheboto districts. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim – East Sikkim, North Sikkim, Jalpaiguri and Kochbihar districts. Surface runoff/ Inundation may occur at some fully saturated soils & low-lying areas over Area of Concern (AoC) as shown in map due to expected rainfall occurrence in next 24 hours.

24 hours Outlook for the Flash Flood Risk (FFR) till 1130 IST of 16-09-2025 :
Moderate to High flash flood risk likely over few watersheds & neighbourhoods of following Met Sub-divisions during next 24 hours. Uttarakhand – Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Nanital, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garwal and Uttarkashi districts. Surface runoff/ Inundation may occur at some
fully saturated soils & low-lying areas over Area of Concern (AoC) as shown in map due to expected rainfall occurrence in next 24 hours.

24 hours Outlook for the Flash Flood Risk (FFR) till 1130 IST of 16-09-2025 :
Low to Moderate flash flood risk likely over few watersheds & neighbourhoods of following Met Sub-divisions during next 24 hours. Konkan & Goa – Mumbai City, Raigarh, Suburban Mumbai and Thane districts. Madhya Maharashtra – Pune district.
Surface runoff/ Inundation may occur at some fully saturated soils & low-lying areas over Area of Concern (AoC) as shown in map due to expected rainfall occurrence in next 24 hours.
