Telangana

Northern Telangana Zone

  • Drain excess water from fields of rice, cotton, maize, soybean, pigeon pea, turmeric, and vegetables.

Southern Telangana Zone

  • Drain excess water from fields of rice, cotton, soybean, vegetables, and vegetable nurseries.

Andhra Pradesh

Krishna Godavari Zone

  • Provide adequate drainage in fields of rice, maize, groundnut, cotton, black gram, green gram, pigeon pea, and sesame.

Scarce Rainfall Zone

  • Ensure proper drainage in fields of cotton, rice, pigeon pea, groundnut, castor, maize, and vegetables.

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal

Terai Zone

  • Drain excess water from rice, chilli, and gourds fields.
  • Cover chilli seedlings with plastic to protect from heavy rains.

Bihar

North West Alluvial Plain Zone

  • Drain excess water from fields of maize, vegetables, and other standing crops.

North East Alluvial Zone

  • Maintain proper drainage in maize fields.
  • Prevent rainwater accumulation in fields of vegetables, ragi, kodo, sava, china, etc.
  • Build scaffolding for creeper vegetables.

Odisha

Eastern Ghat High Land Zone and South Eastern Ghat Zone

  • Ensure proper drainage in fields of rice (especially lowland and medium land), maize, and vegetables to avoid water stagnation.

Jammu and Kashmir

Sub Tropical Zone

  • Prevent water stagnation in fields of maize, pulses, cowpea, bajra, fodder crops, and vegetables.

Intermediate Zone

  • Maintain proper drainage in maize, pulses, and vegetable fields to avoid waterlogging.

Valley Temperate Zone

  • Provide proper staking to bottle gourd, cucumber, bitter gourd vines, and indeterminate tomatoes.
  • Create drainage channels in maize fields for excess rainwater removal.

Himachal Pradesh

Mid Hills Sub Humid Zone

  • Maintain drainage channels in ginger, turmeric, and maize fields.
  • Harvest matured tomato, capsicum, and brinjal fruits.

Sub Montane and Low Hills Sub Tropical Zone

  • Maintain drainage channels in rice, maize, and vegetable fields.

High Hills Sub Temperate Wet Zone

  • Harvest ripened tomatoes.

Uttarakhand

Bhabar and Tarai Zone

  • Maintain 5-7 cm water level in rice fields by removing excess water.
  • Ensure proper drainage in sugarcane, maize, green gram, and black gram fields.

Hill Zone

  • Keep rice field bunds clean by removing weeds.
  • Maintain drainage in soybean, maize, pulses, finger millet, ginger, vegetable fields, and fruit orchards.

Sub Humid Sub Tropic Zone

  • Ensure drainage in fields of barnyard millet, finger millet, green gram, and black gram.

Uttar Pradesh

Bundelkhand Zone

  • Arrange drainage for excess water from pigeon pea, chilli, and onion fields.

Western Plain Zone

  • Postpone sowing of pigeon pea, maize, green gram, and black gram until heavy rains cease.
  • Ensure drainage in all pulses, vegetables, and other crops.
  • Build scaffolding for bottle gourd vegetables.

Madhya Pradesh

Vindhyan Plateau Zone

  • Provide drainage in maize, soybean, black gram, cotton, and pigeon pea fields.

Satpura Plateau Zone

  • Ensure drainage in maize, soybean, cotton, sugarcane, and vegetable fields.

Central Narmada Valley Zone

  • Maintain drainage in rice, soybean, maize, sugarcane, and vegetable fields.

Nimar Valley Zone

  • Provide drainage in soybean, pigeon pea, cotton, and vegetable fields.

Chhattisgarh

Bastar Plateau Zone

  • Drain excess water from kharif maize, rice, minor millets, pulses, and vegetable fields.

Plain Zone

  • Drain excess water from rice, soybean, pigeon pea, green gram, black gram, groundnut, maize, sugarcane, and vegetable fields.

Assam

Lower Brahmaputra Valley Zone

  • Harvest matured vegetables and avoid sowing sesame, green gram, and pigeon pea during heavy rainfall.
  • Ensure drainage in Sali rice, green gram, pigeon pea fields, and banana orchards to prevent waterlogging.

North Bank Plain Zone

  • Ensure drainage in Sali rice and sugarcane fields.

Upper Brahmaputra Valley Zone

  • Ensure drainage in Sali rice fields.

Meghalaya

  • Avoid sowing French beans during heavy rains.
  • Ensure drainage in rice, maize, turmeric, ginger, pumpkin, chilli, cowpea, okra, and bitter gourd fields to prevent waterlogging.
  • Provide staking/support to tall and fragile crops like banana, papaya, and bottle gourd to prevent lodging.

Arunachal Pradesh

  • Ensure drainage in rice, maize, finger millet, soybean, vegetable fields, and fruit orchards to avoid waterlogging.
  • Provide strong support to fruit-bearing plants to prevent bending or breaking during heavy rains.

Livestock and Fishery

  • Keep animals inside sheds during heavy rainfall and provide balanced feed.
  • Store feed and fodder in a safe place to prevent spoilage.
  • Construct an outlet with proper netting around ponds to drain excess water and prevent fish from escaping.
