Tamil Nadu

  • North Eastern Zone: Harvest the matured paddy and groundnut crops and store in safe places.
  • Western Zone: The garden land banana planted in February may be vulnerable to the anticipated high wind speed. Mechanical support may be given to banana.
  • Coastal Zone: Undertake land preparation for sowing of late Samba or Thaladi season.
  • Cauvery Delta Zone: The prevailing weather conditions are favourable for black bug incidence in rice. Spray Acephate 75 SP @ 40g/acre or Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 40g/acre.
  • High Rainfall Zone: To improve the yield of banana, spray micronutrients viz., ZnSO4 (0.5%), FeSO4 (0.2%), CuSO4 (0.2%) and H3BO3 (0.1%) at 3rd, 5th and 7th MAP to increase yield and quality of banana. Provide staking to newly planted banana, coconut, black pepper and other horticultural crops.
  • High Altitude Hilly Zone: Weather is congenial for basal rot in garlic crop. Soil drenching with Carbendazim @ 1g/litre or Copper oxychloride @ 2.5g/litre during rain-free period is recommended.
  • North Western Zone: Weather is congenial for seedling blight incidence in paddy nursery field. Spray Tricyclazole @ 2g/litre of water before transplanting in the main field.
  • Southern Zone: Weather is favorable for the incidence of Whorl maggot in paddy. Symptoms include yellowish-white longitudinal marginal blotching with a hole, shriveled plants, stunted and drooping young leaves near the tip. Remove alternate hosts from the field and apply optimum potash fertilizer. To control, spray Buprofezin @ 350 ml/acre.
