Agricultural Recommendations for Maharashtra

Konkan

  • Drainage and Water Management: Drain excess water from standing crops, vegetables, and orchards due to recent rainfall. Maintain 5-10 cm water level in rice fields at panicle initiation to flowering stage.
  • Groundnut and Turmeric: Undertake earthing and weeding in groundnut and turmeric.
  • Finger Millet Disease Control: If blast disease is observed, spray Tricyclazole 75% WP @ 10 g per 10 litres of water.

Madhya Maharashtra

  • Harvesting: Continue harvesting pearl millet, soybean, maize, and groundnut, and store at safe places.
  • Rabi Crop Sowing: Undertake sowing of rabi crops like sorghum, chickpea, and safflower at vapsa condition.
  • Onion Disease Management: If yellowing of onion leaves is observed due to recent rainfall, spray Tebuconazole 1 ml + sticker per 10 litres of water.
  • Rice Water Management: Maintain 5-10 cm water level in rice fields.
  • Okra Pest Control: For fruit borer in okra due to cloudy weather and high humidity, spray Deltamethrin 2.8% EC @ 10 ml or Lambda-Cyhalothrin 5% EC @ 6 ml per 10 liters of water.
  • Rice Disease Control: For blight disease in rice, spray Amistar Top (Azoxystrobin + Difenoconazole) @ 1 ml per litre of water.

Marathwada

  • Harvesting: Continue harvesting custard apple and timely sown soybean, and store at safe places.
  • Cotton Management: For reddening in cotton, spray Magnesium sulphate @ 20 g per 10 litres of water.
  • Kharif Sorghum Pest Control: For fall armyworm, spray Emamectin Benzoate 5% @ 4 g or Spinetoram 11.7 SC @ 4 ml per 10 litres of water.
  • Sugarcane Pest Control: For woolly aphids in sugarcane due to recent rainfall and cloudy weather, spray Acephate @ 20 g per 10 litres of water.

Vidarbha

  • Harvesting: Continue harvesting matured soybean and store at safe places.
  • Transplanting and Sowing: Continue transplanting 30-40 days old seedlings of late kharif onion. Continue sowing rabi sorghum, safflower, chickpea, linseed, and nursery sowing of tomato, brinjal, cabbage, cauliflower, spinach, fenugreek, radish, carrot, dolichos bean, and ivy gourd.
  • Cotton Management: At boll development stage, to avoid reddening, undertake foliar spray of 1% urea and 1% Magnesium sulphate, and 2% DAP for better productivity.
  • Mandarin Orange Management: To reduce fruit drop in mandarin orange (Ambia bahar), spray Gibberellic acid @ 1.5 g + Urea @ 1 kg + Carbendazim 50% WP @ 100 g per 100 litres of water.
  • Chilli Disease Control: For dieback and fruit rot due to cloudy weather, spray Difenoconazole 25 EC @ 5 ml or Azoxystrobin 23% SC @ 10 ml per 10 litres of water.
  • Orange Disease Control: For brown rot in orange, spray Fosetyl AL 80% WP @ 2.5 g, Copper oxychloride 50% WP @ 2.5 g, or Captan 75% WP @ 2.5 g per litre of water.
  • Rice Management: Maintain 5-7 cm water level at grain milking stage and 3-5 cm at tillering to stem elongation stage. After weeding, apply 2nd dose of Nitrogen @ 25 kg/ha (54 kg Urea per hectare) for mid-late and late rice varieties.
