Valley Temperate Zone (Jammu & Kashmir)

Recommended actions for standing crops and sowing.

  • Complete harvesting of matured rice, kidney beans and maize.
  • Continue sowing of onion, peas and leafy vegetables such as spinach, coriander, methi (fenugreek).

Notes: Harvest early-maturing fields first to avoid losses from unexpected rain. Use well-dried storage for onions to prevent rot.

Cold Arid Zone (U.T. of Ladakh)

Harvest and post-harvest handling guidance.

  • Undertake harvesting of potato, onion, cabbage, tomato and cauliflower.
  • Ensure produce is cured/dried appropriately before storage to extend shelf-life in cold conditions.

Notes: In Ladakh, use insulated storage or raised racks to protect produce from freezing and moisture damage.
