Many districts — including Sirohi, Jalore, Dungarpur, Banswara, and Pratapgarh — have already experienced cloudy skies and precipitation.

Over the next 48 hours, areas such as Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Baran are especially likely to be affected by heavy rainfall and hailstorms.

Expected Impacts & Precautions

Impacts:

  • Crops  especially those in vulnerable growth stages — may be damaged by hail or flooding.
  • Roads and low-lying areas may see waterlogging or flash flooding during sudden heavy showers.
  • Outdoor activities, travel, and fieldwork could be disrupted.
  • Power outages or damage to infrastructure may occur in some districts.

Precautions:

  • Shelter vehicles, equipment, and vulnerable crops from exposure.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel during stormy periods — sudden hail or downpours could reduce visibility and road safety.
  • Stay updated via local weather bulletins and alerts.
  • If outdoors, seek cover when thunder or hail begins, and avoid open areas or trees.

What This Means Going Forward

The ongoing Western Disturbance will keep Rajasthan’s weather in flux. Rather than a one-day event, the alert suggests multiple days of unsettled weather. The regions covered under the alert should stay prepared, especially those already witnessing early rainfall.

Farmers, local authorities, and residents must remain vigilant over the next few days, prioritizing safety and damage mitigation. While the rains may bring much-needed relief in some areas, sudden hailstorms and flooding risks must not be underestimated.
