These advisories are based on realized rainfall data and weather forecasts, offering guidance on crop management, pest and disease control, and animal husbandry practices.
General Advisories for All Regions

Rainfall and Thunderstorms: Due to expected rain/thundershowers, it is advised to postpone irrigation, intercultural operations, and the application of plant protection measures and fertilizers to standing crops.

Waterlogging Prevention: Provide adequate drainage in standing crop fields to avoid waterlogging.

Mechanical Support: As thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are very likely in many areas, provide mechanical support to banana and papaya plantations and staking to young plants and vegetables. Undertake propping in sugarcane.

Central Zone:

Paddy: Weather is congenial for rice bug. Spray fish jaggery extract (20 ml/litre of water) or chitin-based Pseudomonas flurescens (20 gram in one litre of water). For severe attacks, spray Azadirachtin (10 ml) or Malathion (2 ml per litre of water). Apply pesticides before 9 am or after 3 pm.

Banana: As a prophylactic measure against leaf-eating caterpillar, collect and destroy young larvae. For severe attacks, apply Quinalphos 25 EC@ 1.5 ml/litre at leaf axils.

Arecanut: Attack of Red mites and incidence of Mahali (fruit rot) & Bud rot are observed. Take phyto-sanitary measures and ensure proper drainage. Spray 1% Bordeaux mixture with sticker as a prophylactic measure.

Rubber: To protect young leaves of budded seedlings from shedding due to fungal diseases, spray Copper oxy chloride @ 4g in 1 litre of water.

Banana: To prevent rhizome rot, ensure good drainage and drench with Streptocycline antibiotic (@ 2g/10 L) or Copper hydroxide (@ 20g/10 litres) at the plant basin.

Karnataka

Coastal Zone: Undertake planting of new arecanut saplings and sowing of vegetable seeds in upland areas after rains. Avoid waterlogging in orchards.

Hill Zone: Utilize rainfall for transplanting paddy and healthy arecanut saplings. Maintain proper drainage in arecanut fields. For yellowing maize leaves, spray water-soluble fertilizer 19-19-19 @ 5 g/litre of water.

North Transition Zone: Harvest green gram immediately after rain reduction. For Para wilt in cotton due to excess moisture, drench with Saaf @ 2g and 5gm 19:19:19 per litre of water. Monitor for fall armyworm in maize; spray Imamectin benzoate 5% SG or Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 0.3 g per litre of water.

North East Dry Zone: Undertake transplanting of chilli, dipping seedlings in Trichoderma and Psuedomonas solution. To manage color rot/stem rot in groundnut, avoid water stagnation and maintain organic matter with Trichoderma. For physiologically mature green gram /black gram, spray Paraquat (5ml/L of water) for easy pod picking.

North Dry Zone: For pigeon pea, pearl millet, and maize at vegetative stage, undertake repeated intercultivation. Harvest green gram. For severe fall army worm in maize, spray Spinetoram 11.7 % SC @ 0.5ml/l or Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 @ 0.3ml/lit of water or Thiamethoxam 12.6 % + Lambda cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC @ 0.25 ml/litre of water.

North East Transition Zone: Harvest green gram. Undertake transplanting of brinjal and tomato. Spray pulse magic (micronutrient mixture) @ 5g per litre of water in black gram and soybean at flowering and pod formation stage.

Eastern Dry Zone: Carry out intercultural operations in red gram, maize, groundnut, sunflower, tomato, chilli. Carry out earthing up. Install sticky yellow traps in tomato for pest reduction.

Southern Dry Zone: Ensure proper drainage, support banana and pepper plants, protect vegetables from fruit rot and blight. Maintain 5 cm water level in paddy fields. Undertake earthing-up for sugarcane. Monitor for sucking pests and fungal diseases in vegetables; spray neem-based formulations or need-based pesticides.

North Coastal Zone: Continue transplanting aged rice nurseries @ 4-5 seedlings per hill. Clip leaves before transplanting to avoid stemborer and leaf folder.

High Altitude Tribal Zone: Drain excess water from rice, sugarcane, maize, finger millets, groundnut, ginger, turmeric, fruit orchards and vegetable fields. Undertake light earthing-up for groundnut.

Scarce Rainfall Zone: Continue transplanting rice. Maintain 20 cm wide footpaths for fertilizer and spraying. For Mg deficiency in cotton, spray 10g of MgSO4 twice at 45 and 75 DAS.

Southern Zone: Current weather favors zinc deficiency in paddy; spray zinc sulphate @ 2 g + 5 g of urea twice @ 5-day intervals. For leaf folder in tillering paddy, spray Cartap hydrochloride @ 2g/litre of water.

Krishna Godavari Zone: Excess moisture causes iron chlorosis in young pigeon pea & black gram; manage by spraying FeSO4+citric acid.

High Altitude Hilly Zone: Weather is congenial for basal rot in garlic; soil drenching with Carbendazim @ 1g/litre or Copper oxychloride @ 2.5g/litre during rain-free periods.

North Western Zone: Apply enriched paddy micro nutrient mixture @ 10 kg/acre with 100 kg of Farm Yard Manure (FYM) as basal dose during transplanting.
Animal Husbandry (Tamil Nadu)

Provide enough drinking water to cattle, dairy cows, sheep, goats, and poultry birds. Vaccinate animals against foot and mouth disease.

Arunachal Pradesh

Harvest mature maize cobs during dry weather. For Fall Army Worm in maize, remove infested parts, encourage natural predators, and spray Neem oil (Azadirachtin 0.15%) @ 5ml per litre of water during dry intervals. Maintain 5–7 cm standing water in Wetland rice.
Assam

Hill Zone: Continue sowing green gram and black gram. Provide mechanical support to orchards, staking in vegetables, and harvest mature vegetables. Remove old leaves from sugarcane and tie canes together. For damping off in early cauliflower seedlings, drench seedbeds with 0.01% Captan or 4% Formalin solution. For rice hispa in tillering Sali rice, spray Quinalphos @ 2 teaspoonfuls per 5 litres of water.

Lower Brahmaputra Valley Zone: Harvest jute and prepare seedbeds for finger millet. Continue sowing black and green gram. For stem borer and case worm in tillering Sali rice, spray Fipronil 5 SC @ 50 ml per bigha or Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 13 gm per bigha.

Upper Brahmaputra Valley Zone: Complete sowing sesamum. Direct sow sprouted seeds of short-duration Sali rice varieties. Continue sowing black gram, green gram, and radish seeds. To control hispa in rice, spray Emamectin benzoate 1.9 EC (@ 108 ml per 127 litres of water per bigha).

Barak Valley Zone: Continue sowing green gram and black gram. For stem borer and leaf folder in tillering Sali rice, spray Acephate @1.5g/litre of water or Cartap Hydrochloride @ 2g/litre of water or Chlorantraniliprole @4g/litre of water if pest crosses ETL.

Central Brahmaputra Valley Zone: Continue nursery bed preparation and sowing of early cauliflower, black gram, and green gram. Maintain 3–5 cm standing water in fields. For stem borer and caseworm in Sali rice, drain excess water or spray Chlorantraniliprole 0.4G @ 10kg/ha or Flubendiamide 20% SG @125g/ha. Insert bamboo ‘T’ perches in paddy fields. Extract and dry jute fiber.

North Bank Plain Zone: Continue sowing black/green gram. For severe infestation of Army worm, rice hispa, leaf folder, case worm, spray Chlorpyriphos 20EC or Monocrotophos 40EC @ 1.5ml per litre of water. Remove excess nurseries and weeds.

Maintain 2-3 cm stagnating water in transplanted rice. Reapply light dry mulch in ginger fields. Provide support (staking) to banana plants. Prune dead or weak branches. Ensure orchard drains are free flowing.

Monitor insect pest infestation in Kharif rice during booting stage and water level. To prevent bacterial wilt in ginger, drench soil with Copper oxychloride @3g/litre water. Harvest green ginger. North East Alluvial Zone: Avoid waterlogging in maize; use 30 kg nitrogen per hectare as first top dressing. Transplant brinjal and chilli on ridges.

North West Alluvial Plain Zone: Carry out propping in sugarcane. Sow radish varieties at 4-5 kg/hectare , apply FYM (150 to 200 t/ha), Nitrogen (60 kg/ha ), Phosphorus (40kg/ha), Potash (40 kg/ha ). If sucking insect pests (white fly, leaf hopper, aphid) are seen in vegetables, spray Imidacloprid @ 0.3ml/liter of water. Complete plantation of mango and litchi by September 1st week.

Sheath blight can be managed with Tebuconazole 50% + Trifloxystrobin 25% WG @ 80 g/acre . To control sucking pests in cotton, spray neem oil 600–800 ml/acre. Monitor arhar for leaf webber and spray Profenophos 50% EC @ 2 ml/liter.

East and South-Eastern Coastal Plain: Withhold fertilizer and pesticide application during rains. For blast in tillering paddy, spray Hexaconazole @ 400 ml/acre or Azoxystrobin + Difenoconazole @ 200 ml/acre. Control stem borer with Chlorantraniliprole 0.4% GR @ 4 kg/acre mixed with sand. For early aphid attack in black gram and green gram, use neem-based pesticide (Azadirachtin 1500 ppm @ 600 ml/acre) or, if severe, spray Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 40 g/acre in 200 liters of water. Sugarcane red rot may be checked with Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP @ 400 g/acre .

West Central Table Land Zone: Withhold irrigation and pesticide spraying. Ensure drainage in paddy, maize, and vegetables. For stem borer and fall armyworm in maize, spray Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC @ 0.4 ml/litre of water. Drain excess water from mango orchards.

Mid-Central Table Land Zone: Drain excess water from fields. Postpone fertilizer and pesticide application. For iron toxicity in paddy, drain water and apply 10 kg of MOP and 10 kg of Zinc Sulphate 21% per acre. To control downy mildew in cucurbits, spray Copper Hydroxide 77% WP @ 3g per litre. For wilting and root rot in vegetables, drench root zone with 10g Plantomycin and 20g Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP in 10 litres of water.

North Central Plateau Zone: Avoid insecticide and pesticide sprays. For rice stem borer, stop urea and spray Neem oil 1500 ppm @ 1.5 ml/litre. To manage Sheath blight, spray Carbendazim @ 1g/litre.

North Eastern Coastal Plain Zone: Drain excess water from rice, sugarcane, and vegetable fields. Do not spray pesticides/herbicides during rains. For Yellow Stem Borer and Leaf Folder, install pheromone/light traps and apply Cartap Hydrochloride 4G @ 8 kg/acre or Chlorantraniliprole 0.4% GR @ 4 kg/acre . For Blast, drain water and spray Hexaconazole @ 400 ml/acre. For BLB, avoid excess nitrogen and use Copper Oxychloride @ 500 g + Streptocycline @ 6g/acre or Plantomycin @ 1g/litre. For Red Rot in sugarcane, spray Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP @ 400 grams per acre. For aphids in bananas, spray Imidacloprid 30.5% SC @ 0.5ml per litre or Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 0.5g per litre.

North Eastern Ghat Zone: Drain excess water from ragi, maize, and cotton. For wilt and root rot in vegetables, drench root zone with 1.5 grams of Streptocycline and 20 grams of Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP in 10 litres of water. For fall armyworm in maize, spray bio pesticide Beauveria bassiana @1200g per acre. For aphids and jassids in cotton, if population is above ETL, spray Flonicamid 50% WG @ 60g per acre or Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 40g per acre.

North Western Plateau Zone: Maintain water in paddy fields. To prevent boron deficiency in sunflower, mix 10 kg of borax per acre with dry manure. If stem rot appears on sunflowers, drench soil with Metalaxyl and Mancozeb mix @ 2g / litre of water.

Eastern Ghat High Land Zone & South Eastern Ghat Zone: In rice, manage leaf folders and stem borers with Cartap Hydrochloride 4G @ 8 kg/acre , and control sheath blight with Tebuconazole + Trifloxystrobin @ 80 g/acre in 200 litres of water. In maize, maintain drainage and spray Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG @ 80 g/acre for fall armyworms. For ginger and turmeric, ensure drainage and apply Metalaxyl + Mancozeb @ 400 g/acre .

Monitor for rhizome rot in ginger; remove infected plants and spray Bordeaux mixture (1%). Collect and burn Anthracnose infected chilli fruits.

Terai Zone: Drain excess water and reduce nitrogen fertilizer for sheath blight in rice. Keep jute in a dry place. Support okra plants.

Old Alluvial Zone: Cloudy and humid weather is conducive for Blast and Brown spot disease in rice; use nitrogen judiciously and manage weeds. For powdery mildew in pointed gourd, spray Carbendazim @ 5g or Zineb @ 20g per 10 litres of water.

Coastal Saline Zone: For bacterial disease in rice (yellowing leaves), apply Potash @ 6g + chelated Zinc @ 1g + Sulphur @ 2-3g mixed with 1 litre of water after 20-25 days after transplanting. For Fungal blight in bitter gourd, apply Dithane M-45 @ 2.5g per litre of water.

Laterite and Red Soil Zone: Cloudy and humid weather is conducive for Blast and Brown spot disease in rice. To control tikka disease in groundnut, spray Carbendazim @ 1g + Mancozeb @ 2g per litre water at 15-day intervals.

New Alluvial Zone: Ensure timely fertilizer application and good drainage. Crizaf-Sona powder may be added during retting for jute fiber quality.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands: Use yellow sticky traps for stem borer in rice; apply neem oil @ 2ml per litre. Remove old dried leaves of banana. Sow cowpea as border crop for whitefly in okra; spray neem oil (3%) for jassids and aphids. Remove yellow-veined mosaic virus affected plants.
Animal Husbandry (Bihar & Odisha)

Bihar: Give 50-60g of mineral mixture daily to animals.

Odisha: Keep sheds clean, dry, and ventilated. Use smoke to repel insects. Vaccinate cattle against FMD, HS, BQ, and Enterotoxaemia. Vaccinate poultry chicks against Ranikhet. Provide balanced feed.

Postpone fertilizer and pesticide application. Provide mechanical support to newly planted sapota, mango, and arecanut. In Sindhudurg, rotate empty drums in groundnut fields. Apply third split dose of N fertilizer @ 440 g Urea per R to 70-80 days old transplanted rice.

Animal Husbandry (Gujarat)

Keep animals in sheds during rainfall. Keep fodder safe. Spray Deltamethrin or Amitraz @ 2ml/litre of water for tick control. Spray phenyl in sheds. Provide 6-8 kg dry roughage with 15-20 kg green fodder. For milch animals, feed 1 kg feed + 50g mineral mixture per 2 liters of milk yield. Ensure vaccination.

Satpura Plateau Zone: Postpone insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers. Arrange proper drainage in pulses, oilseeds, and vegetables. Provide physical support for banana, tomatoes, and climbers. Tie sugarcane canes.

Nimar Valley Zone: Postpone spraying insecticides, fungicides, and applying fertilizers. Maintain proper drainage. Lift creepers on a trellis. For Pink Caterpillar in flowering cotton, spray Thiodicarb @ 22.5ml or Spinosad @ 7.5ml or Emamectin Benzoate @ 6g per pump.

Jhabua Hills Zone: Drain excess rainwater. Use ‘T’ shaped bird postures and Pheromone traps in soybean for caterpillars. To control sucking pests and yellow vein mosaic disease in black gram, spray Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 150ml/ha.
