Pigeon pea (red gram/arhar)
Present redgram crop is at vegetative stage. Farmers are advised to form dead furrows or conservation furrows after last intercultivation in flat method of sowing to conserve the moisture.
Groundnut
Groundnut crop is at flowering to pegging stage, farmers are advised to give one supplemental irrigation to groundnut.
Maize
Maize crop is at vegetative stage. Farmers are advised to monitor incidence of fall army worm in maize by arranging 4 pheromone traps per acre. Advised to spray neem oil @ 5ml/litre of water during initial stages. Based on the intensity of the pest, spraying of [email protected] or imamectinbenzoate @ 0.4 g per litre of water is recommended and take up spraying based on local weather conditions.
General advice
Due to insufficient moisture wilting symptoms are observed in rainfed crops. Farmers are advised to spray potassium nitrate (13:00:45) @ 5 g or 19:19:19 or urea @ 10 g/litre of water at weekly intervals to relieve moisture stress in rainfed crops to some extentLack of soil moisture observed in crop field.
